Urban Trekking and Tasting La Timpa
An experiential journey immersed in nature, a unique place, a “green river”, among the Iblean caves, the streams, le carcare (furnace for the production of lime), between history and nature, in the city center. The river and a rich fauna, between ancient traditions, crafts and civilizations.
The walk will take you to La Timpa where you can visit the ancient water mill in function and learn about the art of milling, ancient Sicilian grains, wholemeal flour and organic products.
From the art of milling grain to the kitchen, we transform fragrant baked goods and create a tasting lunch of local products prepared by hand just for you!
The program consist of light trekking along the Santa Domenica Valley, a naturalistic guide, a visit to the water mill in function and a tasting menu with artisanal products made with flours from our mill.
Tasting: two different types of Sicilian cheeses, olives and dry tomatoes, warm bread with the PDO olive oil of our production, pizza or scacce from Ragusa, red or white wine glass of Sicilian wineries. To end the experience an artisanal dessert.
